Job Title: Range Attendant I - Golf
Department: Golf (Links and Tees)
Reports to: Golf Operations Supervisor
Job Class: Seasonal, Part-time, Non-exempt
Work Hours: Part-time (19 hours per week a year around), not to exceed 1000 hours a year
Compensation: 15.00 per hour
Position Summary:
Under the direction and supervision of the Golf Operations Supervisor, the Golf Range Attendant I is a highly visible position with the responsibility of keeping the driving range or golf dome tee lines attractive, organized, and free of debris. This position involves extensive customer contact and therefore must be positive, friendly, accommodating, and show the utmost respect for our patrons. The Attendant must operate range equipment safely and productively which includes a tractor and golf cart with an attached ball picker. Golf balls are to be washed and prepared for distribution either indoors or outdoors. Experienced Attendants will also be cross trained in cashier functions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Cleans and prepares District equipment/tools to be ready for use at the beginning of each shift.
- Operates District equipment/tools in a safe manner including, but not limited to, golf carts and tractors.
- Utilizes golf ball washer to clean baskets of golf balls and then transports them to the appropriate location for use.
- Maintains the highest degree of cleanliness of the clubhouse, and patio areas including outdoor furniture, practice range area, miniature golf, and golf dome.
- Treats customers in a professional, efficient manner.
- Responsible for adhering to all safety policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties and functions as directed.
Required Qualifications:
- Must be 16 years of age.
- Valid State of Illinois Driver's License required and must successfully pass Illinois Driver's Abstract review.

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:
- Frequent lifting/carrying/moving of objects 40 - 75 pounds.
- Work area is both indoors, in a smoke-free environment with controlled temperature and fluorescent lighting, and outdoors at the golf course, driving range, and miniature golf.
- Frequent exposure to natural and potentially extreme weather conditions including heat, cold, snow, rain, and ice while attending to job-related activities.
- Exposure to noise distractions from employees, patrons, or equipment operation.
- Exposure to chronic or infectious disease while performing routine first aid or emergency procedures
- Exposure to sun for extended periods of time.
- Must be aware of the presence of golfing hazards.
