Job Description Job Description Position Summary : The Seasonal Parks Maintenance - Athletic Fields is a seasonal summer position and is available temporarily. Under the direction and supervision of Horticulturist II, the position is scheduled on a 40-hour week which includes weekends. The Seasonal Parks Maintenance - Horticulture picks up refuse, trims bushes & shrubs, maintains landscape, and assists the full-time horticulturist in various tasks as needed. This summer position may sub for other tasks such as maintaining and grooming athletic fields, repairing park equipment, and repairing signage.Compensation : $15.00 - 16.00 an hourEssential Duties & ResponsibilitiesRemove all refuse and trash from parks and playgrounds. Recycle materials as appropriate according to disposal company directions.Sets up athletic fields (painting fields, laying out soccer and football fields, lining baseball fieldsAssists in grooming ball fields, weeding ball fields, and edging ballfields.Uses athletic field equipment paint striper, field groomer, gators, truck, trailers, etc.Performs other duties as assigned.CompetenciesAbility to follow directions and communicate in English both verbally and in writing.Ability to use of computer software applications.Ability to work in a team atmosphere.Ability to maintain self-control and composure in difficult situations.Ability to be flexible and adapt to changing situations.Required Qualifications18 years of age or older.Holds a valid driver's license with the ability to successfully pass a driver's abstract review.Ability to drive company vehicles.High school diploma or equivalent.Preferred QualificationsPrevious Park Maintenance experience.Environmental & Physical DemandsEmployee will be required to work inside and outside during various environmental conditions, such as, but not limited to rain, mud, heat, sun, dust, dirt, and noise exposure.Employee must have the physical agility to maintain mobility from site to site and be able to perform heavy manual tasks.
