Commercial Ductwork Sheet Metal Superintendent (Minimum 5 years relevant experience required in the Mechanical/Industrial Contracting Field as a Superintendent) – A leading Mechanical Industrial Contractor in the West Georgia area is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Commercial Ductwork Sheet Metal Superintendent to join our aggressively growing team. The Commercial Ductwork Sheet Metal Superintendent is a critical senior level role within or HVAC Construction and Retro/Industrial Group. This role will be responsible for providing leadership on larger Industrial and Commercial projects. This role has primary responsibility for not only supervision but overseeing the processes relating to the sheet metal ductwork team. Audit the performance of subordinates and budgets as they relate to estimate objectives and make appropriate recommendations to achieve objectives.
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Commercial Ductwork Sheet Metal Superintendent to oversee and manage sheet metal installation projects in commercial construction. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in HVAC ductwork, strong leadership skills, and the ability to coordinate crews, schedules, and materials to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Provide support in the constructability process, scheduling of manpower and facilitate interpretation of drawings Promote an atmosphere of teamwork and company loyalty. Fulfill customer obligations on time in a cost-effective manner while maintaining the highest quality standards possible. Delegate and organize the work of subordinates by establishing goals and objectives.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Supervise and manage sheet metal crews, ensuring productivity, efficiency, and quality workmanship.
- Plan, coordinate, and oversee the installation of commercial HVAC ductwork systems.
- Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and project plans to ensure compliance with job requirements.
- Maintain project schedules, coordinate with project managers, and ensure timely completion of work.
- Ensure job site safety, compliance with OSHA regulations, and adherence to company safety policies.
- Conduct daily site inspections to monitor progress and resolve any issues or conflicts.
- Communicate with general contractors, subcontractors, and clients to ensure smooth project execution.
- Order and manage materials, tools, and equipment needed for each project.
- Train and mentor crew members, providing guidance on best practices and problem-solving.
- Track labor hours, report project updates, and manage workforce allocation efficiently.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial HVAC ductwork installation.
- 3 years in a supervisory or superintendent role within the sheet metal industry.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC duct fabrication, installation techniques, and industry best practices.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and specifications.
- Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Experience with project scheduling and workforce management.
- Understanding of OSHA and workplace safety regulations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management software is a plus.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to job sites as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
- OSHA 30 certification.
- Trade certifications in HVAC/sheet metal work.
- Experience with BIM coordination and AutoCAD/Revit knowledge.
