Job Description
The Additive Technician is responsible for performing routine tasks related to the operation of metal 3D printers. This role involves working closely with a cross-functional team of engineering, sales, and customer support to develop and execute a business plan aimed at driving growth in the 3D printing market.
Essential Job Functions:
- Operate and maintain AM equipment to ensure smooth production processes.
- Breakout machines and prepare them for new jobs, adhering to strict timelines.
- Cleanup parts for shipments, maintaining high standards of quality and efficiency.
- Ensure the tidiness and organization of the Additive Area, promoting a safe and productive work environment.
- Occasionally work on machining projects, providing opportunities for skill development and improvement.
- Read and interpret blueprints and drawings to understand project requirements.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.
- Maintain regular attendance and adhere to all Company policies and procedures.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- An Associate's Degree in an adjacent field or equivalent manufacturing experience.
- Prior machining experience is highly preferred.
- A strong passion for rapid prototyping and 3D printing.
- The ability to work independently, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet tight deadlines.
- Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality results.
- Familiarity with computer-aided design (CAD) software, including SolidWorks, MasterCAM, 3DXpert, or Magics.
Work Environment:
- The role requires working in a manufacturing environment, where personal protective equipment (PPE) is mandatory.
- The typical work area is well-lit, with ambient temperatures, and standard plant equipment.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to sit or stand as needed.
- Walking on a level surface for short periods throughout the day.
- Reaching above shoulder height, below waist level, or lifting materials as required.
- Proper lifting techniques must be used to avoid injury.
- Comfortable working in small, confined spaces while following safety protocols.
