Adecco is seeking a highly skilled
- Senior Cost Accountant
- for an exciting temp-to-hire role with a pharmaceutical company in Stafford, VA! This key position oversees all aspects of cost accounting and inventory management, participating actively in the Finance Departments financial close process, analysis, and reporting.
- Key Responsibilities :
- Conduct cost estimates for new products and assess cost impacts for changes to existing products.
- Analyze and resolve discrepancies in product costs by monitoring manufacturing variances and identifying any issues in routing or bills of materials.
- Maintain integrity of standard costs and item attributes impacting cost flows.
- Analyze cost of sales, manufacturing variances, and prepare monthly Yield, PPV, Reject, and KPI reports.
- Assist in annual budget planning, including sales plan and cost rate standards.
- Prepare and post monthly and quarterly journal entries.
- Oversee inventory processes : confirm month-end balances, manage damaged / rejected items, and track aging / obsolete inventory for appropriate reserves.
- Support AP and AR with inventory-related transactions.
- Track COGS and CM accuracy in shipped / invoiced inventory.
- Participate in R&D, new item setup, corporate, and site initiatives.
- Execute special projects and maintain updated Excel schedules for accurate month-end close.
- Assist with Quality audit items.
- Qualifications :
- 5-7 years of experience
- in Accounting, preferably within Manufacturing.
- Bachelors degree
- in Accounting or related field.
- Strong data analysis, financial insight, and reporting skills.
- Proficiency in
- Excel, SAGE, JD Edwards
- and Microsoft Office.
- Manufacturing cost accounting experience
- in warehouse settings (experience with raw materials, WIP, and finished goods is preferred).
- Reliable attendance and transportation are essential.
