Transportation Vice President Job Summary
The Transportation Vice President will oversee the daily operations of the transportation department, develop and execute strategies to improve safety, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness. This role involves managing all team members, including departmental dispatch managers, supervisors, administration personnel, truck, and trailer shops employees at all locations.
The successful candidate will have excellent management, organizational, and communication skills, as well as a strong understanding of regulations and laws related to transportation operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, develop, and implement transportation strategies and initiatives.
- Develop and implement policies, procedures, and programs related to transportation.
- Provide leadership and direction to transportation staff.
- Negotiate and coordinate contracts, services, and agreements.
- Supervise the daily operations of the transportation department.
- Evaluate and analyze transportation programs and services.
Key Requirements:
- Minimum of five years of experience in transportation or logistics planning.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with department managers.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Sound working knowledge of DOT Safety Regulations.
- Understanding and management of CSA Scores.
