Job Overview
The Warehouse Associate plays a crucial role in the warehouse environment, responsible for receiving, stock keeping, picking, packing, and shipping activities. Additionally, this position involves counter sales, housekeeping, and related quality assurance tasks.
Responsibilities
- Handle all incoming shipments and verify purchased products to ensure accuracy.
- Enter order receipts into WESCO's computer system and perform quality assurance inspections when necessary.
- Place received material into proper warehouse storage locations after segregating backorders and relocating materials as needed.
- Pull, pack, weigh, and label materials for shipment, including assemble & hold orders.
- Prepare bills of lading and express receipts, and assist in loading trucks.
- Maintain local delivery records and complete applicable blocks on pick tickets.
- Inspect condition of returned material prior to completing return authorization forms.
- Return stock to correct location pending credit memo, sale, or return to supplier.
- Clean warehouse and trucking/parking area, and assemble/disassemble bins, racks, shelves, and tables as needed.
- Administer preventative maintenance programs for delivery vehicles and warehouse equipment to ensure proper functioning and safety practices.
- Record verbal/written complaints from customers and process complaints by responding to customers or directing them to the complaint department supervisor/manager.
- Maintain counter stock as needed and may assist with over-the-counter sales.
Requirements
- High School Degree or Equivalent.
- Basic computer skills.
Working Environment
Work is generally performed in a warehouse environment with moderate noise levels, well-ventilated areas, and adequate lighting. Employees may be exposed to various weather conditions and required to wear protective clothing. Heavy equipment operation and strict safety regulations apply.
Physical Requirements
Work is physically strenuous, requiring employees to lift heavy packages up to 50 pounds and use hand tools.
