What are the responsibilities and job description for the Physical Education Teacher -Middle School 2025-26 position at Adel-DeSoto-Minburn Community School District?
The Adel DeSoto Minburn Community School District is seeking a physical education teacher for the 2025-26 school year to join our growing district. This position will be a 1.0 FTE at ADM Middle School.
ADM Middle School is a progressive 7th & 8th grade building with small class sizes and an energetic, collaborative staff. The ADM Middle School serves approximately 350 students and is located in Adel and shares the complex with the High School.
Candidates must demonstrate humility and a passion for working with students, staff, and families. The ideal candidate would have experience teaching physical fitness, sports playing, and living a healthy lifestyle as well as experience adapting curriculum to meet the needs of all learners. Applicants must be highly collaborative. The ADM staff uses the Professional Learning Community model, and this team member would be joining a highly collaborative PLC that strives for high levels of student achievement and excellence.
This position is responsible for creating a classroom environment that motivates each student to cultivate physical fitness and classroom management to engage a large group of students in activities.
Requirements:
- Valid Iowa Teacher License
- Physical Education Endorsement
- Health Endorsement (preferred but not required)
- Coaching interest preferred

- Strong formative and summative data analysis skills to make instructional decisions
- Effective record keeping and organizational skills
- Knowledge of using technology to enhance learning
