What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maint Tech I position at Adelante External?
Education and Experience: High School Diploma (or equivalent) required. Two years general maintenance experience and one-year experience driving oversized truck/vans required. Post high school training or certification in electrical, plumbing, HVAC, or carpentry a plus. Advanced training in building maintenance preferred. Strong communication and interpersonal skills required. Must have the ability to effectively communicate in English, with internal and external customers of Adelante. Have the ability to read and write English in order to understand and interpret written procedures. This includes the ability to give and receive instructions in written and verbal forms and to effectively present information and respond to questions from clients, supervisors and co-workers.
Other Requirements: Must pass background/fingerprint investigation, pre-employment drug screening and TB test. Must have own reliable transportation, valid NM driver’s license, insurable driving record and proof of current liability insurance. Must be able to perform hard physical labor (i.e., moving furniture, construction materials, remodeling etc.) for extended periods of time. Must be able to lift 80 lbs., crawl, climb 30 ft., crouch, kneel, and walk frequently. Must be able to stand, bend, stoop, squat, reach above shoulders, balance push/pull, carry frequently.
