The Chicas College and Career Facilitator serves as a dynamic, hands-on collaborator within our Chicas Youth Development Program, offering culturally responsive college and career access resources through a lens that prioritizes the intersecting experiences of bicultural, first-generation Latine students. This role emphasizes the integration of behavioral health support to address the emotional and mental well-being of students as they navigate the challenges of college and career pathways. By providing personalized guidance through one-on-one support and engaging community events and workshops, this role supports Latine youth and their families in comprehensively navigating the college admissions process, applying to colleges and trade schools, accessing financial aid resources, and exploring career paths, especially in health fields. Working closely with Chicas high school youth advocates, behavioral health specialists, and school district partners, the Chicas College and Career Facilitator ensures that 11th and 12th grade students in our program receive holistic support to successfully graduate from high school and transition into post-secondary programs. The Chicas College and Career Facilitator reports to the Chicas Program Coordinator.

  • Provide specialized culturally-specific college and career support to participants and their families across the Beaverton, Hillsboro, and Forest Grove school districts
  • Lead dynamic college and career workshops and afterschool sessions for 9th-12th grade students, providing comprehensive guidance on college and trade school admissions, financial aid, post-secondary transition, and career preparation.
  • Foster partnerships with high school college and career centers, and Oregon colleges to offer culturally specific college access resources for Latina/e participants and their families
  • Partner with behavioral health specialists to integrate mental health resources into college and career readiness workshops and events
  • Collaborate on developing materials and sessions addressing stress management, resilience, and coping strategies for students transitioning to post-secondary pathways

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A passionate commitment to the goals and mission of Adelante Mujeres and support for immigrant and BIPOC communities
  • AA Degree or higher in Education, Psychology, Social Work, or strongly related field
  • Bilingual-Bicultural Spanish/English required
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of youth and family engagement, preferably with Latine youth
  • Proven ability to independently lead projects and a strong sense of self-direction
  • Experience providing Latine students and families with college and career readiness support
  • Familiarity with local college access programs and experience fostering relationships with partners
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and communicate accurate information
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with staff, students, parents and other members of the school community
  • Demonstrated capacity to work autonomously, coupled with exceptional organizational and time management skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Canva
  • Access to reliable transportation

  • A passion for supporting underserved Latine students and a genuine enthusiasm for higher education
  • Proven experience in leveraging resources to provide comprehensive college preparation tools to families
  • Committed to education, social justice, women's empowerment, and the environment
  • Experience in delivering programs through a trauma-informed lens

Additional Requirements:

  • COVID-19 vaccine and booster required except for religious or medical accommodation
  • Complete Criminal Background Check
  • Ability to travel out of town to attend workshops or trainings
  • May need to work on evenings or weekends, as well as workdays exceeding 8 hours during peak periods with the opportunity to flex schedule to avoid overtime

SALARY & BENEFITS:

  • Salary range: $25.00-$26.90 hourly depending on qualifications and experience
  • Full-time, year-round position 40 hours of work per week
  • Telework: up to two days a week
  • Benefits: health, vision, dental, short-term and long-term disability, 401K pension plan, life insurance, EAP, professional development opportunities, paid leave of absence, paid holidays (12.5 days annually), sick days (up to 9 days annually), personal days (3 days per year), vacation per year (up to 20 days years one through five, up to 25 days after five years), and sabbatical (1 month at 10 years of employment), monthly transportation stipend
