Adelphi is seeking a Board Certified Chief Therapeutic Medical Physicist PhD to provide radiation oncology physics services at a facility in Long Beach, California. The role includes ensuring compliance with national radiation oncology standards, overseeing quality assurance, and supporting treatment planning and equipment calibration, among other responsibilities.

Requirements :

  • Ph.D. in Medical Physics or related field.
  • Board Certification in Medical Physics or Therapeutic Medical Physics by the ABR
  • Minimum 5 years of post-board experience, with at least 3 years of continuous work experience within the last 5 years in an ACR / APEx-certified facility.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience with Varian TrueBeam, Image Guided Radiation Therapy (IGRT), Eclipse Treatment Planning System, ARIA Record & Verify System, IMRT QA, GE Discovery CT Simulator, Superficial X-ray Machine.

    • Responsibilities :

  • Oversee quality assurance (QA) and radiation safety in compliance with ASTRO, ACR, and AAPM guidelines.
  • Perform treatment chart checks and ensure adherence to radiation safety protocols.
  • Conduct machine commissioning, calibrations, and maintenance.
  • Implement and monitor APEx accreditation requirements.
  • Collaborate with Radiation Oncologists, Medical Physicists, and Dosimetrists.
  • Other duties as assigned.
