Adelphi is seeking a compassionate Registered Nurse to provide health services, promote health education, and maintain a safe, inclusive environment for students at a public school district in Fayette County, Kentucky. The Nurse will provide comprehensive special education health services, promote health education, and maintain a safe environment. Requirements :
Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
Valid Kentucky RN license.
Minimum 1-2 years of experience, preferably in pediatrics, school nursing, or special needs care.
Current CPR / AED and First Aid certifications.
Valid Driver’s License.
Proof of required immunizations.
Responsibilities :
Conduct nursing assessments and evaluate student health conditions.
Develop, implement, and manage individualized health care plans in compliance with IEPs and IDEA guidelines.
Administer medications and perform specialized health procedures like catheterizations and enteral feedings.
Train and supervise Unlicensed Authorized Personnel (UAP) for health-related tasks.
Collaborate with teachers, parents, and healthcare providers to address student health needs.
Maintain accurate health records for compliance and Medicaid reimbursement.
Organize and prepare medications for field trips and coordinate with school staff.
Provide emergency response care, including First Aid, CPR / AED, and allergy management.
Conduct health screenings and follow up on referrals.
Train staff in emergency medication administration and response.
Participate in IEP meetings and school wellness committees.
Report communicable diseases to the Health Department and district officials.
Maintain a clean and HIPAA-compliant health area.
May be required for field trips or travel between schools.
Perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting / moving up to a specified weight (e.g., 50 lbs).
