Duties And Responsibilities
To provide counsel, assistance, and behavioral interventions to youth placed in the Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) to ensure a safe therapeutic environment, and to carry out all duties according to Federal, State, and Local policies, procedures, and requirements and in accordance with the mission and philosophy of Adelphoi Village.
- Implement and monitor individual treatment plan interventions regarding social, emotional, medical, and mental health needs.
- Participate with youth in therapeutic, educational, recreational, and daily programming activities.
- Monitor daily behaviors and mental health interventions during programming activities.
- Assist the clinical staff team in the development of functional behavioral assessments and intervention strategies.
- Promotes a safe and secure therapeutic environment for youth, staff, and guests.
- Facilitate individual and group counseling sessions, under the direction of clinical staff to reinforce emotional and behavioral improvements.
- Document and maintain necessary information, files, and reports on treatment progress and intervention needs of youth within required time frames.
- Acts as an appropriate role model for youth.
- Respond and intervene, when necessary, in crises using agency-approved safe crisis management techniques.
- Communicates and consults with supervisor, clinical staff team, and teachers daily regarding treatment progress, functional behavioral analysis, and intervention strategies.
- Supports the staff team in performing responsibilities and duties and offers constructive feedback as necessary.
- Manage other unit responsibilities as assigned by the program supervisor.
- Bachelor's Degree preferred; Associate Degree; and/or a minimum of 60 college credit hours in education, psychology, social work, and/or other related field.
- 2-year working experience in counseling dependent, delinquent, or at-risk youth preferred.
- Or, any equivalent combination of education and/or training.
