What are the responsibilities and job description for the Student Respiratory Care - 10% Casual position at Adena Health?
Under direct supervision of the Respiratory Care supervisor and the shift Lead/Charge Therapist, the Student Respiratory Care Therapist provides respiratory pharmacologic, diagnostic, and therapeutic modalities to all age groups as defined by each Student Ohio Respiratory Care Permit. The Student Respiratory Care Therapist provides direct patient care and works collaboratively with other team members, the physician, and the patient/family to achieve optimal outcomes. This position acts as a liaison with other clinical departments. The incumbent has access to confidential patient information makes decisions in collaboration with other team members and physicians.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Within the scope of the Limited Respiratory Care Permit and under the supervision of a Respiratory Care supervisor and/or the shift Lead/Charge Therapist, carries out physician orders according to protocols, best practices and policies.
- Accurate Documentation.
- Performs diagnostic procedures and cardiac monitoring with recognition of arrhythmias.
- Administering medications for the testing or treatment of cardiopulmonary impairment.
- Gives input for policy, procedure and protocol development.

Minimum/Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Must be a student actively enrolled and in good standing in recognized respiratory care educational program
- Ohio Respiratory Care Limited Permit issued by the Ohio Respiratory Care Board
- BLS – Basic Life Support
