Hiring Direct Care Providers
We seek motivated and compassionate individuals to join the incredible team of Direct Care Providers for Stephens Farm at Adeo. Forming relationships with residents and working with a committed staff are among the highlights of the job. Previous experience providing direct care is preferred but not required – we provide training for all new hires. Most importantly, these roles require teamwork, communication, and consistency. We are looking for full-time Direct Care Providers (DCP) for the following shifts:
Day Shift: 7:00 am - 3:00 pm
Pay Range: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour
Duties and Responsibilities
Direct Care
- Collaboratively respond to resident and staff needs in a direct, timely, and supportive manner
- Provide services to meet residents’ individual needs – this may include personal care, meals, housekeeping, laundry, activities and engagement.
- Reinforce boundaries with residents according to individual care plans and redirect behaviors when necessary
- Maintain thorough and accurate documentation of care provided, including taking vital signs and performing range of motion exercises
- Ensure overall safety, cleanliness, and sanitation of the facility to provide a safe, clean, hazard-free environment
- Communicate pertinent changes, critical information, and feedback about resident care or program operations with other staff and/or managers
- Engage with residents in ways that nurture positive relationships, mutual respect, and understanding within a residential environment, including ensuring access to common areas and residents’ ability to make informed choices to the greatest extent possible
- Lead or assist with resident groups or activities
- Be present, prepared, and on-time for each shift and provide care until relieved by oncoming staff
- Regularly check email and text messages for important correspondence and respond when necessary
- Take on additional shifts to cover others when necessary and available
- Participate in mandatory staff trainings, including CPR and Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) training
- Comply with all company policies regarding privacy, confidentiality, and mandatory reporting
Community Engagement
- Maintain positive interpersonal relationships with residents, family, staff, and community
- Support residents to make and keep commitments that support their physical and mental health
- Foster opportunities for residents to connect with the community in meaningful ways

Minimum Qualifications for DCP Roles
- Enthusiasm for interacting with and supporting others, especially people with disabilities
- Experience working collaboratively on a team
- Self-awareness and ability to use clear, direct language to build and support healthy relationships
- Ability to prioritize, organize, and complete tasks under dynamic conditions without direct supervision
- Comfort using technology (such as Electronic Medical Records, tablets and smartphones)
- Ability to be trained on how to support residents with brain injuries
- Consistent availability for weekend shifts on Saturdays and Sundays
Preferred Qualifications
- At least 6 months professional care experience
- Previous experience supporting people with disabilities and traumatic brain injury
- Qualified Medication Administration Personnel (QMAP) Certification
Additional Requirements
- Proficiency speaking, reading, and writing in English
- Possess visual and auditory acuity
- Ability to lift and carry 25 pounds at shoulder height, and lift up to 50 pounds occasionally
- Physical ability to push, pull, stand, walk, reach, sit, twist, bend, crouch, use stairs, and frequently exert up to 10 pounds of force
- Valid driver’s license
- Reliable transportation
- Ability to access the Internet (i.e., for checking email)
- Proof of up-to-date COVID vaccination prior to hire
- Proof of immunizations within 30 days after hire: e.g., Tuberculosis tests, flu shot, Hep B
