The Opportunity
Adept Group is seeking a Packaging Engineer II (1099 Contractor) with 3-5 years of packaging engineering experience! This candidate would have packaging development experience within the Medical Device or Pharmaceutical industry. They would also have experience with testing methodologies, protocol writing, and design verification & validation.
This a 40-hour per week onsite opportunity in Logan, Utah for 6 months. Hybrid opportunity is possible in Logan, Utah for the right candidate, but the preference is onsite.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct root cause investigations for product damage during shipping.
- Design, test, and qualify packaging solutions for single-use bioreactors and fermenters.
- Collaborate with suppliers to prototype and implement packaging changes.
- Author and update protocols, test plans, and packaging specifications.
- Support qualification efforts and transition to manufacturing.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Packaging Engineering.
- 3 – 5 years Packaging Engineering experience.
- Medical Device or Pharmaceutical experience (cleanroom, irradiation, regulatory awareness).
- Proven experience with testing methodologies, protocol writing, and design verification & validation.
- In-depth understanding of the full packaging development and qualification process (or stage gate process).
- Demonstrated knowledge of resource planning for trials.
- Demonstrated knowledge of FDA and ISO requirements related to packaging and labeling, ensuring robust package validation and qualification.
- Intermediate understanding of project timeline development.
- Demonstrated effective communications (verbally and in writing) across internal and external teams.
- Demonstrated ability to multitask and manage time efficiently and effectively across multiple activities and tasks simultaneously.
- Able to work independently with some guidance.
Preferred Experience:
- Experience with Sealed Air/Corvu packaging systems.
- Familiarity with ISO 13485 and FDA-audited environment.
- Knowledge of LiquidPlanner project tracking tool.
- Bachelor's degree in Packaging Engineering.
- Excellent communication skills, both technical and cross-functional.
- Adaptable to fast-paced, evolving project scope.
