A review from a previous employee on Glassdoor about their experience working for Adept :
I have loved being an employee at Adept Physical Therapy. I have worked as a PT at 4 previous companies, and I have been more fulfilled and happy working at Adept PT than I have been at any previous job. The clinic owner, Gary, his wife and the patient advocate, Adriana, are a joy to be around and are some of the most genuine people I have ever met. Gary was honest and transparent from the very beginning of the hiring process, which I really appreciated. We were able to have honest conversations about my salary, work hours / time off needs, and any other work-related topics that came up during my employment. He is a good listener and took the time to understand and answer any questions I was having.
As an employee at Adept PT, I feel like I am part of something bigger than myself which for me is very rewarding. When I read the clinic philosophy on their website it really resonated with my career purpose and was the reason I applied to work there. Professionally, I truly care about understanding my patients’ individual PT goals and I believe in providing high quality patient care. I have worked in outpatient clinical settings that are not conducive to me being able to carry out these values. I love that Adept PT facilitated me being able to demonstrate these values in a way that gave me more career satisfaction than I have had at any other job. One of the main ways that they made this possible is because they are one of the few outpatient PT clinics that provides one-on-one patient care, where the PT sees only 1 patient at a time. My professional opinion is that one-on-one care is the best means of providing high quality care, and I appreciate that Adept PT is committed to maintaining this treatment model.
Despite working one-on-one with patients, there is strong teamwork and community feel to being a member of the Adept PT staff. During my time as an employee at Adept PT I was motivated by the hard-working nature and high quality treatment demonstrated by each of my fellow PT’s. I was motivated to improve my clinical skills and bring my best efforts to work each day because those around me were doing just that. The work environment is an enjoyable one. My coworkers (administrative and clinical staff) made efforts to get to know me, ask how my weekend was, smile from across the clinic, laugh together, and have genuine conversations during the day which promoted a feeling of family and community in the clinic. I feel like we were all working together to create a positive, uplifting atmosphere and improve the lives of our patients, and it just feels good to be part of that.
Something that I consider “icing on the cake” is the thoughtfulness of my coworkers. Gary, Adriana, and my other coworkers celebrated my birthday with balloons, flowers, little presents and a pizza party with cake. I’ve never had a job where I felt so celebrated on my birthday. The hard work of the staff was recognized and appreciated with regular verbal acknowledgment and occasional gift cards from Gary and Adriana.
I could see myself working at Adept PT for years to come. Sadly, my husband’s job got relocated out of state and I needed to resign after 9 months, but I wish circumstances were different and I could have stayed. I consider myself blessed to have been part of the Adept PT team, even though my time was much shorter than I wanted it to be, and I am grateful to have had the privilege to work in a friendly, uplifting, rewarding, and supportive environment.
