AdeptAg, a leader in the horticultural industry is excited to announce an opening for a Mechanical Engineer to support our team on-site in our Oberlin, Ohio location. We are looking for a dynamic Mechanical Engineer who can create, problem solve and has a talent for working multiple projects that are specialized based on each customers' needs.
AdeptAg is an integrator of horticultural automation equipment for large greenhouses and nurseries both domestic and international. We utilize products from over a dozen leading manufacturers as well as manufacture our own products. AdeptAg is constantly helping to meet the challenges of today’s growers with innovative and cost-efficient automation solutions.
This is a local on-site position. We are searching for candidates who currently live within a 50-mile radius of Oberlin, Ohio.
Mechanical Engineer Job Duties:·
- Work with customers on design builds, and problem solving.
- Conduct research to develop new technologies and products, and to improve existing systems.
- Develop prototypes of mechanical systems, including designing and building prototypes, testing them, and analyzing their performance.
- Responsible for testing and debugging mechanical systems to ensure they operate as intended. This may involve conducting laboratory tests, writing test scripts, and simulating system behavior.
- Responsible for communicating project status, progress, and any changes to stakeholders, including management and any other departments.
- Responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting mechanical systems to ensure they continue to be manufacturable. Research of alternative solutions and parts.
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to service personnel helping develop their skills.
- Responsible for documenting the systems designed, including creating technical manuals, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
Skills/Qualifications:
- B.S. Degree in Mechanical Engineering, preferred
- Mechanical engineering with 3 years' experience
- Experience using computer-aided design (CAD) software to create detailed schematics and models of parts and components.
- Verbal and written communication skills needed to present complex technical information.
- Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software.
