Summary
Certified Payroll Administrator performs a variety of activities related to certified payroll process and administration. This position requires a dynamic self-starter who communicates well and can produce a high volume of work in a fast-paced environment.
The pay range for this position is $25.86-$31.03/hour.
Please Note: This position is open to Shareholders only.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Review, process, and approve weekly field timesheets, per diem, and expense reports
- Works with the Project Manager and Contracts department to prepare and submit a Project Specific Wage Determination (PSWD) to the payroll department.
- Responsible for processing Davis Bacon / Prevailing Wage Certified Payroll for Ahtna, including maintaining proper security of all documents containing personal information for any employee(s) on the project.
- Track, review, and process the subcontractor’s certified payroll for accuracy and completeness.
- Ensures compliance with Federal, State, and Local tax laws and regulations related to prevailing wage and certified payroll processing.
- Assist in project closeout by confirming receipt of final certified payrolls from subcontractors as well as Ahtna’s then provide reporting to Project Manager and Contracts department.
- Must be highly organized and able to manage a high volume of work under strict deadlines.
- Promote and maintain a flexible, cooperative, team-oriented, and customer-focused attitude within and between departments and vendors.
- Attention to detail, time management communication (verbal, listening, written), customer service, and teamwork, as well as honesty and integrity in dealing with confidential information.
- Ability to work and communicate successfully with remote crews.
- Willingness to work occasional overtime.
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
- Perform any other duties as assigned by management.
Minimum Qualifications
- Associate Degree, any field
- Work experience may be substitute education on a 1:1 basis
- Proficient with MS Office Excel, Word, Outlook
- Previous office experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in certified payroll and/or payroll
- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) credential
- Knowledge of the Service Contract Act, Davis Bacon Act, and Wage and Hour requirements
- Must possess a thorough knowledge of blended prevailing wage hours, as well as state-to-state prevailing wage laws
- Knowledge of GSA travel regulations
- Experience with computerized accounting software, preferably Deltek/Costpoint
- Experience in the construction, environmental, or engineering industry
- Experience and knowledge of Alaska Native cultures

Physical Demands
Frequent sitting, using hands/fingers, handling, reaching with hands and arms, talking, hearing, and seeing (up close, at a distance, along the periphery, with depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus), occasional walking or standing, occasional lifting of up to 10 pounds.

Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 to 5:00, may vary based on business needs
