Analytical Group Leader

Job Summary:

Lead a team of chemists in executing analytical techniques, method developments, and validations for pressure sensitive adhesive (PSA) development, scale-up, and product launch.

Key Responsibilities:

• Direct analytical support for research and development projects to meet organizational needs for new product development and commercial production.
• Manage the assignment of analytical requests within the Analytical Group.
• Develop and implement new analytical techniques to advance the technical competency and contributions of the group.
• Establish future technology initiatives and propose new analytical capability needs to Innovation Group Management.
• Maintain analytical equipment via vendor relationships and service contracts.
• Take an active role in setting overall R&D direction and strategy, participating in business planning with one or more businesses as appropriate.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree (or higher) in analytical chemistry, chemistry, polymer science, or materials science, or significant industrial experience.
• Greater than 5 years hands-on experience performing relevant analyses such as GC-MS, GC-FID, GPC, HPLC, FT-IR, UV-Vis, DMA, SEM, optical microscopy, or related polymer characterization techniques.
• Familiarity with coated adhesive applications, method development, and method validation.
• Excellent program prioritization and coordination skills, ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Ability to supervise analytical chemists, scientists, and technicians, develop and present effective technical presentations, and maintain confidentiality of AR information.

Additional Requirements:

• Superior oral and written communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, and ability to employ statistical analysis techniques.
• Knowledge of computers and related software, including Microsoft Office.
• Aptitude to use sensitive test equipment.
