JOB SUMMARY
The BOM Specialist is responsible for creating, modifying, and maintaining item master data and bills of materials within the ERP system. This person will convert data received from various departments into the required format for entry/scanning into our ERP system.
SUMMARY OF JOB DUTIES - Essential Functions (Other duties and projects may be assigned or requested.) Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions
- Coordinate the review of technical documents with engineering staff and amend applicable current company documentation in ERP
- Create and maintain integrity of item master data in ERP, to include plan offsets, plan horizons, routing, BOM revisions, supplier lead times, manufacturing lead times, and standard labor hours
- Ensure processes are in place to support the master data quality
- Champion, drive and maintain company ERP as the single source of truth to run the business
- Prepare and conduct mass and/or manual data updates in ERP and other software as required
- Monitor and correct data processing exceptions and clean-up opportunities
- Record and maintain process documentation (SOPs)
- Maintain accountability for the manufacturing bill of materials (MBOM) and all subsequent changes
- Provide immediate support to production issues that are related to Manufacturing BOMs, and routing structures used
- Collaborate with process engineering to facilitate appropriate routing for new development programs, including application of learning curve labor hours for First Article Inspections (FAI) units
- Provide training and guidance to Adient Aerospace staff regarding all technical ERP expertise
- Maintain and distribute documentation system training packages for Adient Aerospace
- Use independent judgment to establish, build, and maintain relationships with all key stakeholders
- Work cross-functionally with other departments, including new product development, accounting, engineering, logistics, inventory control, supply chain, planning and scheduling teams to maintain and adhere to workflows, processes and procedures that enhance information integrity and promotes speed-to-market in the creation of product SKUs
- Recommend system improvements that would improve day-to-day work functionality
- Implement and maintain Key Performance Indicators (KPI)
- Maintain a safe, secure, and legal work environment, adhering to all Company policies and procedures
GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS Education, Knowledge, and Experience
Education:
- Bachelors Degree or equivalent work experience is required
Experience:
- 5 years of direct experience
Skills:
- Analytical and planning skills sufficient to determine resources and time required to complete projects
- Attention to detail, and ability to review work for any discrepancies and/or inconsistencies
- Accuracy with sense of urgency
- In-depth knowledge of ERP development tools, coding languages, and business processes
- Organizational skills an ability to work in a fast-paced work environment to meet required deadlines
- Experience with reading blueprints, detailed prints, and technical specs

Salary Range Transparency: $90,000 - $113,000 annually, depending on candidate qualifications
