JOB SUMMARY
The Manager Test Lab is responsible for developing and executing test lab plans, schedules, and setups, as well as conducting developmental and certification testing. Test types include, but are not limited to, component, static, dynamic, abuse, cycle, and flammability tests. The Manager Test Lab will have hands-on responsibilities in addition to managing the overall operations and team within the test lab.

- Manage and lead test technicians, ensuring efficient and effective execution of testing activities.
- Manage the internal testing schedule, ensuring deadlines and priorities are met.
- Coordinate with engineers to ensure testing requirements are aligned with engineering specifications and goals.
- Maintain the test facility, ensuring cleanliness, organization, and proper supply management.
- Oversee the maintenance of the test lab conference room, ensuring it is well-equipped and organized.
- Ensure test equipment and fixtures are in optimal working condition through regular calibration, maintenance, and procurement of spare parts.
- Set up, conduct, and monitor dynamic, static, abuse/cycle testing, ensuring proper data acquisition systems are in place.
- Review and interpret test plans to ensure proper execution and compliance.
- Monitor and document test results, ensuring all data is accurately recorded and analyzed.
- Create, update, and enforce internal test facility manuals, procedures, and work instructions.
- Design and construct test fixtures/platforms, overseeing their build and integration into testing processes.
- Stay informed on the latest industry testing methodologies and emerging technologies to maintain lab competitiveness and compliance.
- Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Maintain a safe, secure and legal work environment, adhering to all Company policies and procedures.
- Maintain and protect the confidentiality of the Companys information and products.
GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS Education, Knowledge, and Experience
Education:
-
Bachelors degree in a technical or engineering field, preferably Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Systems/Manufacturing Engineering
Experience:
-
Minimum of 8 years of experience in test lab management.
Skills:
- Electro/mechanical background
- Knowledge of FAA/EASA requirements is a plus.
- Ability to work independently.
- Mechanically inclined with familiarity in using shop tools.
- Proficiency in CAD software.
Preferred Skills/Experience:
- Experience with FARO (3D measurement and scanning) systems is a plus.
- Proficiency in script or code writing for tool setup and automation.
Other:
- This position requires full-time onsite work. Remote or hybrid options are not available.
- May be asked to work extended or irregular hours as required
- Will be asked to travel globally to source and secure supply chain suppliers
- Often asked to travel on short notice

SUPERVISION PROVIDED TO THE POSITION

Direction is provided in terms of tasks and objectives. Work is reviewed upon completion on how well objectives have been met. Will work autonomously with only occasional status updates with supervisor.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
Adient Aerospace offers competitive wages and benefits to recognize employees for their work. The base pay offered will vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, location, experience and take into account internal equity.
Salary Range Transparency: $135,000 - $159,000 annually
