JOB SUMMARY
The Materials & Process Engineer is responsible for providing?engineering and technical support as a subject matter expert in the development, design and manufacture of aircraft interiors products. This position will maintain?an understanding of the customer, design, and regulatory requirements; translate requirements into viable solutions to reduce lead times, control part costs, and improve product quality. The Materials & Process Engineer will develop innovation for new products based on knowledge of new or existing technologies, materials, and processes.

- Write?and review?materials and process specifications, qualification and/or test plans and generates reports in support of programs and corporate initiatives
- Conduct?failure analysis and advises on root cause correction action for composite materials and processes
- Develop?testing and analysis capability for the investigation of materials as they apply to products to determine issues/causes; develop?recommendations and supports/leads the implementation of the prescribed course of action
- Research?existing technologies and determines applicability to design or performance requirements
- Design?and create?new technology when existing technology is not available
- Contribute?to the continuous improvement of current manufacturing procedures as they apply to materials and process
- Evaluate technical proposals to support cost estimates for new product design or manufacturing technology
- Work?collaboratively with product teams to refine the manufacturing process.?This includes recommending materials or technology alternatives to optimize process capability and production rate.
- Maintain?a strong understanding of materials performance properties and manufacturing processes to help recognize and mitigate risk as the product transitions from concept to production
- Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Maintain a safe, secure and legal work environment, adhering to all Company policies and procedures.
- Maintain and protect the confidentiality of the Companys information and products.
GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS Education, Knowledge, and Experience
Education:
- Bachelors Degree in Material Science Engineering or related field, including Applied Statistics is required.
Experience:
- Experience in writing and reviewing materials specifications, process specifications, qualification plans, test plans and reports
- Experience in failure analysis and root cause correction action for composite materials and processes.
- Job assignments will be based on experience, job opening and budget availability, and the performance level of the incumbent.
- Level l: 0-2 years of engineering experience
- Level II: 2-5 years of engineering experience
- Level III: 5 years of experience
Skills:
- Ability to successfully handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Proficiency in applying statistical techniques to analyze many types of data problems.
- Expertise working with aircraft/aerospace composite materials: carbon and glass fiber reinforcements, phenolic and epoxy resin matrix systems, honeycomb core materials, thermoplastic, and adhesives.
- Experience in composite manufacturing process: hand lay-up, resin infusion/resin transfer molding, standard vacuum bagging and press curing processes.
- Knowledgeable in metals and metal forming techniques: machining, casting, forging, and cutting.
- MS Office Suite, MS Windows.
Preferred Skills/Experience:
- Computer aided drafting (CAD) techniques.
- Testing for flammability and mechanical properties.
Other:
- May be asked to work extended or irregular hours as required.
- Must show proof of ability to work in the United States.

Will autonomously work on routine assembly or designs with frequent status updates with supervisor. Will be provided with additional guidance on more complex or non-routine assemblies.
- Level III: Direction is provided in terms of tasks and objectives. Work is reviewed upon completion on how well objectives have been met. Will work autonomously on any assembly or design with only occasional status updates with supervisor.
LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITY
- None for Entry and Intermediate levels.
- Senior level may oversee the work of others.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
Adient Aerospace offers competitive wages and benefits to recognize employees for their work. The base pay offered will vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, location, experience and take into account internal equity.
Salary Range Transparency: $95,000 - $110,000 annually
