Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Working under the guidance of a controls engineer, the controls intern will do the following related to complete seat assembly equipment project(s)
- Specify controls components required for the project
- Develop schematics and drawings as required
- Install and configure components
- Develop or modify PLC and/or HMI programs needed for the project
- Assist in startup and debug
- Participate in equipment design reviews, installation and debug at local complete seat plants.
- Update or develop documentation related to controls standards and best practices.
- Must be currently enrolled in an accredited university and working towards a 4-year B.S. degree in Electrical or Controls Engineering.
- Available to work up to 40 hours per week
- Minimum overall GPA of at least 3.0.
- Previous internship or co-op experience in automotive related position an added plus
- Proficient in MS Office
- Strong computer skills with ability to quickly learn new software/applications
- Analytical problem solving
- Strong communication, presentation and teamwork skills including the ability to write clear, concise technical documentation.
- Thinks Analytically - The ability to break down problems and gain understanding to make effective decisions.
