Opportunity for a Supplier Quality Engineer to join Adient’s automotive metals plant in Clanton, AL. The Supplier Quality Engineer reports to the Quality Manager and interfaces with Engineering, Quality, Quality Planning, Purchasing, Logistics, Human Resources, Suppliers, and Service Providers.
Responsibilities And Duties
- Incoming Inspection
- Organize QAD incoming goods inspection process – component inspection plans
- Make sure inspection plans correlate to the product control plans.
- Change management of supplied products
- Support the process of engineering change implementation at the plant through liaison and PPAP management with the suppliers
- Daily supplier concern management
- Rejection reporting using QAD notifications
- Monitor immediate and permanent actions
- Supplier 8D monitoring, checking and closure
- Make sure supplier quality rejects are correctly booked in relevant system (e.g. QAD)
- Co-operate with central supplier development function in case of critical suppliers on site process audit as per need.
- Support Top Focus/Stepdown escalation processes
- Supplier resolution/closing meeting in plant
- Supplier cost recovery maximization
- Supplier Cost of Poor-quality recovery
- Manage cost collection for supplier caused issues
- Manage invoicing costs
- Report on the recovered costs
- Supplier evaluation process
- Ensure that performance data reported in QAD for suppliers and the supplier evaluation is accurate
- Supplier PPAP management Work together with engineering to release supplier PPAP’s
- Manage and administer projects in the PPAP Database
- Conduct Build trials, assess PPAP packages, conduct measurement studies
- Supplier Requalification management
- Minimum of 3 years in quality engineering and automotive experience preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in production, dealing with suppliers and/or customers
- BS Engineering or technical degree preferred.
- MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
