Description Teacher Assistant to join our team at Woodstock Elementary School and Woodstock Middle School. Requirements/Certifications
Needed PARAPROFESSIONALS / PERSONAL CARE ASSISTANTS
1. Completion of a Teacher Assistant Pre-Employment Training Program approved by the RI Department of Education (RIDE).Three (3) exceptions
to this particular qualification:
i. Those hired before January 1, 1999
ii. Those with certification as a TA inanother state,iii. Those with an associate’s degree or
bachelor’s degree AND who have completed coursework or other training consistent with the teacher assistant program standards. It is a district's decision whether coursework or other training is consistent with the teacher assistant program standards.
2. Meet one (1) of the following requirements:
a. Successfully pass the ParaPro Assessment. OR
b. Complete at least 2 years of study at an institution of higher education OR
c. Obtain an associates or higher degree.
Job Description:
The ideal candidate will assist teachers with instructional support, student supervision, and classroom management as needed. This is a daily paraprofessional substitute position.
Requirements:
- Associate's Degree or equivalent of two years college education
- Paraprofessional certification required
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide instructional support to teachers
- Supervise students in the classroom and during activities
- Assist with classroom management and organization
Job Type: Contract
Pay: $22.00 - $24.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
