The Adirondack Experience (ADKX) in Blue Mountain Lake is nestled right in the heart of the Adirondacks and offers four seasons of outdoor recreation, is surrounded by serene landscape and cozy small towns, and offers something for everyone who enjoys the serenity of the Adirondack Park. The ADKX is primarily a seasonal museum open from Memorial Day weekend through Indigenous People’s Day but host a year-round staff of 31 individuals who keep operations running all year.
The ADKX is embarking on an exciting capital campaign and is in need of a two-year term, part-time (21-24 hrs/week), year-round coordinator to help oversee all aspects of the capital campaign.The primary responsibilities of the Capital Campaign Coordinator include assisting the Director of Institutional Advancement and the volunteer Capital Campaign committee with planning and coordinating the campaign. The Capital Campaign Coordinator would manage the day-to-day operations of the campaign, research and compile detailed donor and prospect profiles, reports, lists, and other related information for meetings, events, and strategic planning purposes. The coordinator is also responsible for assisting with the maintenance of the museum’s donor database. This position is eligible for participation in our generous benefit package that includes health, dental, vision, and supplemental insurances, paid time off, and a generous contribution to a 403b retirement account with no match required. Hourly range: $20-$24/hr.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Assist in supporting implementation of campaign plan and solicitation strategies.
- Research and compile prospect lists.
- Produce materials as needed.
- Establish and maintain accurate campaign records: organizations, committee members, prospect evaluations, assignments, tracking, funds raised, percentage of goal and completed calls, campaign progress.
- Help develop a volunteer campaign manual.
- Oversee production of printed materials.
- Assist in preparing proposals, strategy memos, volunteer talking points, meeting agenda and action items (minutes).
- Arrange campaign meetings.
- Maintain campaign expense records and monthly budget updates.
Day to Day Duties include:
- Drafting/Writing - agendas, minutes, action items, memos and letters, proposals, strategy memos, information for volunteers and staff going on calls, acknowledgments to volunteers, final report.
- Record Keeping - campaign calendar, posting and reporting gifts and pledges, campaign totals, volunteer stats, committee stats, files of all correspondence, gift reports, etc.
- Coordinating Events - arrange meetings, prepare materials (agendas, status and summary reports, proposals, etc.), coordinate event logistics (food/beverage, IT setup, facility use, etc.), and confirm attendance.
- Communicating - keep volunteers and staff informed, answer volunteer questions as necessary, remind volunteers of meetings/action items.
- Preparing - Solicitation materials for volunteers (case statements, pledge cards, etc.), Keep files and notebooks on all campaign actions in an organized fashion for reference.
An ideal candidate will have:
- Experience with Altru or the ability to learn and adapt to new computer programs effectively and in a timely manner.
- Strong computer skills required with proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel, databases, and the Internet.
- Strong research and organizational skills. Attention to detail important.
- Ability to manage time efficiently; work on multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
