What are the responsibilities and job description for the Chargemaster Manager position at Adirondack Health?
Position Summary
Under the direct supervision of the AVP of Revenue Cycle, the Chargemaster Manager is responsible for maintaining the AH Charge Description Master. Must be able to coordinate and communicate with clinical and financial departments to implement appropriate charges for services rendered and be able to resolve charge and coding related issues across all AH departments supporting revenue cycle operations through workflow, denials, appeals and financial analysis. Also provides reporting, support and analysis for the Revenue Cycle team and management, and provides support in creating, monitoring, and implementing tools linking strategies to measure and improve revenue. Components include Chargemaster maintenance and charge capture.
Educational Requirements/ Qualifications
Completion of two years college coursework, preferably towards business/accounting degree; or at least 4 years related experience required, to include knowledge of healthcare finance revenue cycle functions, information systems and CMS/state reimbursement regulations. Familiarity with computer programs (Word, Excel) required. Demonstrated strong analytical skills in current tasks, and highly detail oriented. Must have a working knowledge of medical terminology.
