What are the responsibilities and job description for the Grossing Technician/Technologist position at Adirondack Health?
Position Summary:
Responsible for the accurate gross description, dissection and processing of all biopsies, routine and moderate complexity tissue specimens according to established protocols under the direct supervision of the Pathologist and/or Pathology Supervisor. Participates in limited technical activities of the Pathology department when needed, such as accessioning, staining, cover slipping, routine maintenance and cytology specimen preparation.
Educational Requirements/ Qualifications - Grossing Technologist:
Bachelors degree in Science
Current NYS license as Clinical Laboratory Technologist (CLT), Medical Technologist (MT) or Histotechnologist (HTL).
1 years grossing experience preferred.
