What are the responsibilities and job description for the HIM Clerk position at Adirondack Health?
Position Summary:
Responsible for retrieval and reconciliation of records, organizing, scanning and indexing inpatient and outpatient records and reports. Ensures all records are complete and deficiencies are properly identified and brought to the attention of the provider. Responds to requests for records from outside sources. Provides access to records as appropriate using various methods such as delivery, faxing, printing and printing to disc., Ensures data integrity including accuracy of Adirondack Healths computerized master patient index.
Educational Requirements/ Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Aptitude for organization, attention to detail and multitasking.
- Clerical, secretarial and/or customer service experience preferred.
- Medical terminology helpful, computer experience required.
