What are the responsibilities and job description for the Swim Instructor/ Lifeguard position at Adirondack Health?
Position Summary:
Adirondack Health Medical Fitness Center’s Swim Instructors are a vital component to our team. They are dedicated and have the experience to teach swimming to individuals of all ages and skill levels, ensuring a safe and enjoyable learning environment. All swim instructors will also be lifeguard certified and preferably obtain their water safety instructor (WSI) certification. At times this position may be asked to also lifeguard as needed. The purpose of the Lifeguard is to provide safety to the members and guests in the pools and surrounding areas.
The position will maintain a positive and professional demeanor during interactions and work related relationships with all persons at the center including but not limited to members, guests and team members. Swim instructors and Lifeguards must be fully competent in performing water rescue procedures and coordinate to in ensure safety of patrons in and around the pools and monitoring swimmers and to enforce all safety and facility rules.
Educational Requirements/ Qualifications/Experience:
Qualifications:
Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must be a high school graduate or equivalent.
- Lifeguard experience desired.
- Lifeguard certified
- CPR/BLS for the professional rescuer certified
- WSI preferred
Salary Range:
$23.00-$25.00 per hour
