What are the responsibilities and job description for the Ultrasonographer - Women's Health position at Adirondack Health?
Position Summary:
1. Maintain a Womens Health Imaging program within the Womens Health Center
2. Maintain quality initiatives to improve service of Ultrasound imaging in the Womens Health Center
3. Obtain and maintain AIMU certification
4. Manage scheduling of patients for ultrasound Imaging
Additional duties include, but not limited to:
5. Perform ultrasonic diagnostic procedures in accordance with accepted protocols as directed by providers in the Womens Health Center of Adirondack Health.
6. Educate and instruct patients regarding procedures to ensure cooperation and optimum test results.
7. Follow prescribed safety standards in operating equipment.
8. Maintain ultrasound equipment in appropriate operating condition.
9. Maintain examination room and work area. Order and stock all ultrasound supplies.
10. Assists in the training of students and new employees.
11. Other duties as assigned.
Educational Requirements/ Qualifications:
- High school diploma and or GED
- Completion of an accredited Diagnostic Ultrasound Technology program
- RDMS certification in OB/GYN Ultrasonography
- 5 or more years of experience in OB/GYN specialized ultrasonography preferred
- Accreditation by the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine (AIUM) experience
- Certification as an RDMS in OB/GYN
Pay Range:
Registered: Grade 29
$32.04 - $46.36 per hour
Unregistered: Grade 24
$28.51 - $37.42 per hour
