Adisseo USA, Inc. manufactures various feed ingredients for the livestock, aquaculture, petfood, and wild animal feed markets. We are seeking an analytical chemist for its Hampshire, IL production plant. Under the direction of the Lab Manager, this person will oversee daily lab testing activities which involves analysis of customer feeds and pure ingredients and QA/QC of raw materials, intermediate and finished products. This position requires an individual that communicates well, pays attention to details, has a strong work ethic, and works well in a team setting. Responsibilities
- Receive, log and label feed samples for testing
- Perform feed sample preparation which includes freezing, grinding, labelling and storage
- Prepare solvents, reagents, and calibration solutions
- Conduct tests, interpret, analyze data, and prepare reports
- Maintain and troubleshoot laboratory instruments and equipment which include but are not limited to HPLC, GC, viscometer, spectrophotometer, pH meter, water filtration system and laboratory hoods
- Maintain calibration of pipettes and balances
- Order lab supplies, monitor inventories and coordinate lab waste disposal
- Maintain LIMS and update LIMS database as needed
- Coordinate with corporate master lab in France on test procedure improvements, laboratory certification process and renewals
- Communicate test results with Technical Managers as needed
- Assist in building budget for the lab
- Bachelor of Science in Chemistry or related science with at least 3 years of laboratory experience or Master of Science in Chemistry
- Experience with HPLC and micro viscometer preferred
- Proficient in using Microsoft 365 tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, etc.)
