Location: Clayton, NC
Duration: 12 Months contract with possible extension
Job Summary/Description:
Summary: The main function of a mechanical engineer is to research and investigate the design, functionality and maintenance of mechanical products, equipment, systems and processes. A typical mechanical engineer has the ability to make engineering drawings and read and interpret blueprints. Job Responsibilities: Research, design, develop, manufacture, and test tools, engines, machines and other mechanical devices. Research and analyze customer design proposals, specifications, manuals to determine time and cost feasibility to complete projects. Investigate equipment failures and difficulties to diagnose faulty operation and make recommendation to maintenance crew. Assist drafters in developing the structural design of products using tools, equipment or software. Skills: Creativity, verbal and written communication skills, analytical and problem-solving ability. Team player and detail oriented. Ability to make sketches, engineering drawings and common computations. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawing, schematics and computer-generated reports. Previous experience with computer applications and software related to engineering field, such as Computer Aided Design (CAD). Education/Experience: Associate's degree in engineering required. 3-5 years’ experience required.
Position's Contributions to Work Group:
Collaborate with global teams, suppliers, and process partners to ensure quality and meet customer and business requirements • Facilitate migration of solid modeling files from external suppliers to the internal model database • Integration of components into operator station • Manage portfolio of components taking them from concept to production • Releasing new product designs and make changes using Teamcenter
Typical Day:
Working in a team environment Primarily working from desk Reviewing and modifying drawings Facilitate meetings throughout the day Reviewing project status with team Some travel to and from manufacturing facilities to review quality issues and test design changes
Education Requirement:
Associate/Bachelor or Masters in engineering degree (Mechanical/Construction/Civil/Agriculture
Critical Technical Skills:
CAD experience (2-4 years); Creo/Pro-E preferred - 2-4 years Teamcenter Strongly preferred Sheet metal/fabrication experience preferred
Soft Skills Required:
Communication Problem Solving Strong Initiative Collaboration/Interpersonal skills.
Compensation
This is the base hourly pay range that Aditi Consulting reasonably expects to pay someone for this position $35- $40/hr (compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including but not limited to, a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, experience, location and end client requirements).
