Test Engineer

Project Overview:

Test engineers will transition component tests from an engineering-intensive process to a more manufacturable one, suitable for technicians. This involves creating clear work instructions, modifying test setups for ease of use, and potentially automating processes. Engineers will also train technicians on the new procedures. The team will operate across three shifts (approximately 52 technicians total), and engineers will work two shifts. Overtime is expected.

Role & Responsibilities:

• Transition component tests from an engineering-intensive process to a more manufacturable process.
• Create clear work instructions and modify test setups for ease of use.
• Potentially automate testing processes.
• Train technicians on new testing procedures.
• Work across two shifts, collaborating with approximately 52 technicians.
• Handle overtime as required.

Candidate Requirements:

• Level 2 Engineer:
• 1 years of experience in component testing and data analysis.
• Hands-on experience preferred (academic projects may be considered depending on experience).
• Experience with cryo, hydraulic, pneumatic systems, valves, pressure setups, instrumentation, and automation is a plus.
• Proficiency in MATLAB, LabVIEW, DEWESoft is a plus; Python is desirable.
• Level 3 Engineer:
• 3 years of experience in component testing and data analysis.
• Experience with cryo, hydraulic, pneumatic systems, valves, pressure setups, instrumentation, and automation is a plus.
• Dynamics/vibration analysis background is desirable.
• Proficiency in MATLAB, LabVIEW, DEWESoft is a plus; Python is desirable.
• Preferred Industries: Experience in launch vehicles or oil and gas is a plus, but transferable skills from other industries are acceptable.

Interview Process:

1. Initial 30-minute phone screen.
2. 1-2 one-on-one, 30-minute interviews with engineers.
3. 15-20 minute candidate presentation on a past project.
