Overview
The Chief Revenue Officer (CRO) is responsible for developing, coordinating and implementing strategies for airport revenue growth that enhance the customer experience. Areas of oversight include parking and ground transportation, concessions, real estate development, air service development, government affairs, communications and customer service. Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to advance profitability and optimize resource utilization.
Responsibilities
Duties & Activities:
- Revenue Strategy & Growth: Develop and implement comprehensive revenue generation strategies aligned with the airport's business objectives, identify and capitalize new revenue streams, and maximize existing revenue channels, such as airside operations, retail, concessions, parking, ground services, and real estate.
- Leadership & Team Development: Lead and manage the Airport’s revenue generation efforts, ensuring their alignment with the Airport's overall goals. Promote cross-functional collaboration between operations, finance, marketing, and business development teams.
- Commercial Partnerships & Stakeholder Engagement: Cultivate and manage relationships with airlines, commercial partners, retailers, government agencies, and other external stakeholders. Identify partnership opportunities to enhance revenue, such as joint ventures, advertising, and sponsorships.
- Financial Oversight & Analysis: Oversee revenue forecasting, budgeting, and financial performance tracking. Analyze and report on revenue performance, identifying opportunities and challenges. Provide recommendations for pricing, service offerings, and revenue optimization.
- Customer Experience & Brand Strategy: Collaborate with marketing and customer service teams to ensure a premium experience for passengers and commercial partners. Work on improving airport amenities, services, and passenger offerings to drive spending. Advocate for and implement customer-centric initiatives that align with revenue goals.
- Market Analysis & Competitive Intelligence: Monitor industry trends, competitor performance, and emerging technologies to inform revenue strategies. Conduct market research to understand passenger preferences, regional economic conditions, and aviation market dynamics. Adjust pricing models, promotional offers, and partnerships to stay ahead of competitors.
- Supervise, coordinate training, review performance, and manage timesheets of direct and indirect reports in compliance with federal and state employment laws and Airport policy and procedures.
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance. Work extended hours, outside of regular shift schedule, as required by operational needs.
- Respond to and assist with Airport emergencies. Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Airport Management, Accounting, Finance or related field.
- Ten (10) years of Executive/Officer level experience at a small or medium hub commercial service airport.
- Or equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates an extensive knowledge of principles and practices of modern airport financial management.
