Overview
The Concessions & Ground Transportation Manager is responsible for overseeing and optimizing revenue-generating business lines within Concessions and Ground Transportation at Ontario International Airport (ONT). This role requires strategic leadership, financial acumen, and strong relationship management skills to drive revenue growth, enhance passenger experiences, and support business partners.
The Manager will lead a team, ensuring alignment with ONT’s revenue objectives and operational excellence across both concessions and ground transportation. They will also collaborate closely with consultants assisting ONT in revitalizing its concessions program, and oversee PCI, ONT’s parking and shuttle program partner
Responsibilities
Revenue & Financial Oversight
- Develop, manage, and analyze revenue budgets for concessions and ground transportation, ensuring alignment with overall airport revenue goals.
- Collaborate with the Finance team to track financial performance, forecast revenue trends, and implement strategies to maximize income streams.
- Identify opportunities for revenue enhancement and operational efficiencies across concessions, parking, shuttles, and other ground transportation services.
Concessions & Business Partner Engagement
- Foster and maintain strong relationships with ONT’s food & beverage, retail, and service concessions partners, ensuring contract compliance, operational excellence, and business growth.
- Collaborate with consultants to continue expanding ONT’s concessions program, ensuring it reaches its full potential in terms of variety, service quality, and financial success.
- Evaluate concessionaire performance and assist in negotiating lease terms, amendments, and renewals to maximize airport revenue.
- Develop and execute initiatives that enhance the passenger experience through an improved concessions mix and service delivery.
Ground Transportation & Parking Oversight
- Provide contract and performance oversight for PCI, ensuring that ONT’s parking and shuttle services operate efficiently and align with revenue goals.
- Monitor ground transportation operations, including TNCs (Uber/Lyft), rental cars, taxis, and shuttles, to identify areas for improvement and revenue growth.
- Analyze parking trends and shuttle service performance, working with internal and external stakeholders to optimize operations and enhance customer satisfaction.
Leadership & Team Management
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of three staff members who split time between concessions and ground transportation activities.
- Assign priorities, set performance expectations, and provide ongoing coaching to ensure team effectiveness and professional growth.
- Foster a collaborative and results-driven culture, ensuring alignment with ONT’s strategic objectives and Revenue Management’s long-term vision.
Stakeholder & Consultant Collaboration
- Serve as a key liaison between ONT and Concessions and Ground Transportation partners, ensuring the successful execution of strategies that revitalize various revenue generating program.
- Coordinate with internal teams such as including Operations, Finance, Marketing & Communications, Administrative and Infrastructure & Development divisions to enhance passenger services and revenue-generating initiatives.
- Represent ONT in meetings with external stakeholders, including business partners, consultants, and industry groups, to advance revenue growth initiatives.
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Any combination of education, training, and experience that would likely provide the knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform in the position.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Aviation, Business, Economics, Finance, Marketing, Public Administration, Real Estate or a related field.
- Four (4) years of experience of experience in revenue-producing business lines, with a strong preference for candidates with experience in airport concessions, parking, or ground transportation operations, including two (2) years in a supervisory capacity.
- Experience preferably includes two (2) years working for a commercial airport.
LICENSES / CERTIFICATION
- Valid Driver's License equivalent to a California Class C Driver's License.
- Acceptable driving record at time of appointment and throughout employment.
- Ability to pass all background / reference checks, knowledge examinations, as well as aptitude tests necessary to obtain an OIAA employee badge at ONT.
