The Adel DeSoto Minburn Community School District is seeking an elementary art teacher for the 2025-2026 school year to join our growing district. This position will be a 1.0 FTE shared between Meadow View Elementary School and DeSoto Intermediate School.
Meadow View Elementary is a 2nd-4th grade building that has 24 classroom sections educating approximately 550 students. This position will serve about 20 classrooms at the Meadow View building with 45 minute art classes on a weekly schedule.
DeSoto Intermediate is a progressive fifth and sixth-grade building with small class sizes and an energetic, collaborative staff. DeSoto Intermediate educates approximately 360 students and is located directly west of Waukee on the edge of the Des Moines metropolitan area.
The ideal candidate would be skilled in encouraging student creativity and self-expression, demonstrating a love and appreciation of art, and providing learning activities appropriate to the age of the students in order to develop an interest in and ability for creative expression. The successful candidate will have expertise in leading the learning of students in creating art, presenting art, responding to art, and connecting with art. Applicants must be highly collaborative, humble, driven and demonstrate passion for art education. The ADM staff uses the Professional Learning Community model, and this team member would be joining a highly collaborative PLC that strives for high levels of student achievement and excellence.
Requirements :
- Valid Teacher License
- K-8 Art Endorsement
