Operations Assistant Superintendent – Plains, KS
This is a full-time, salary exempt position.

Position Summary:
We are looking for a high potential individual ready to take on challenges and responsibilities at our Plains, KS grain processing facility. This position reports to the Superintendent.

Position Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Superintendent with the day to day activities of the Elevator. This includes grain dryer operations, loading/unloading, sampling, grading, transferring, blending and storage of grain and grain by products.
  • Assist in scheduling of operations for the hourly staff.
  • Communicate operational procedures to hourly workforce.
  • Implement and enforce company programs, policies and procedures.
  • Ensure all colleagues are conducting operations safely and efficiently throughout each shift.
  • Contribute to the development of goals\operational procedures for the department and plant.
  • Perform daily facility walkthroughs and supervise hourly work staff on the daily progress.
  • Perform daily/weekly/monthly inspections and document results on computer based programs.
  • Train colleagues to become proficient at jobs and tasks at the facility, sign off on performance qualifications.
  • Coordinate with Grain Superintendent to develop a safe and efficient daily work plan for hourly staff on a shift basis.
  • Partner with Superintendent concerning the execution of work schedules.
  • Maintain documentation and identify cost saving ideas.

Position Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2-3 experience developing a team
  • General computer knowledge (familiar with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word & web-based skills)
  • Excellent oral/communication skills
  • Leadership characteristics, able to motivate others and demonstrate team building skills.
  • Strong organization and documentation skills
  • Able to meet physical requirements of the position including, but not limited to prolonged periods of standing and sitting, working in confined spaces and from heights, bending, kneeling, climbing stairs and ladders, working in a variety of conditions (heat, cold, dust, etc.), lift up to 50 pounds unassisted, shovel material and operate a vacuum.
  • Willing to work rotating shifts, weekends, holidays and overtime as needed.

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Hourly and salaried non-exempt employees will also be paid overtime pay when working qualifying overtime hours.

If hired, employees will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base pay (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.

The pay range for this position is expected to be between:

$69,700.00 - $119,000.00
