Quality Control Lab Technician - Clinton, IA

• Pay Rate: $21/hr.
• Shift: 12 hour rotating shifts (Days and Nights including weekends)
• Rotating shift 4 shifts A, B, C, and D. A and C work together and B and D work together. When A is on days, C is on nights and vice versus for B and D. For example A shift will work days Tues and Wednesday and C shift will work those nights. They will then be off Thurs and Friday and work opposite what they did on Tues/Wed. So A shift will work Sat, Sun, and Mon night and C shift will work days. Essentially every other weekend off.
• Temporary Contract position with Raise.
• Successful completion of a pre-employment background check is required.

Responsibilities:

• Perform routine analytical chemistry tests in an accurate and timely manner.
• Conduct routine quality control (QC) testing and recordkeeping in a safe, accurate, and orderly manner.
• Conduct various wet chemical and instrumental analyses of samples for process control and final QC inspection.
• Ensure the accuracy of finished product analysis.

Education:

• An Associate’s degree in science or equivalent work experience is preferred.

Desired Skills and Experience:

• Science background
• Previous experience with analytical testing
• Familiarity with GMP/GLP (Good Manufacturing/Laboratory Practices)
• Understanding of wet chemistry techniques
• Experience with lab instrumentation

Requirements:

• Willingness and ability to work a rotating 12-hour shift, including nights, weekends, holidays, and on-call coverage
• Active participation in training efforts and safety initiatives
• Attention to detail in following procedures, proper analytical technique, and computer entry
• Good judgment in reporting errors, unusual conditions, or events to supervision
• Ability to communicate results, problems, and priorities to supervisor and production departments in a timely manner
• Strong computer skills, including accurate data entry and use of databases and MS Office software (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Ability to follow complicated technical instructions
• Proficiency in mathematics
• Flexibility in accepting change and an attitude of continuous improvement
• Maintain proper housekeeping and cleanliness in all work areas
• Maintain routine supplies in the work area for each shift worked
