Senior Internal Auditor - Chicago or Decatur, IL

Preferred Educational Requirements –

  • Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts degree in Accountancy or related field with 12-15 hours of accounting courses; Minimum GPA 3.0 (International Candidate Degree / GPA Requirements vary by country but are similar in substance)

Preferred Prior Professional Experiences –

  • 2 years of relevant Audit experience
  • Career Description –

    A Senior Auditor works under direct supervision of an audit manager to perform Risk Based audits of ADM entities throughout the world. On each assignment the Senior Auditor will lead staff members and review, assimilate, and logically document work procedures performed at ADM entities with a focus on the inherent risks associated with each entity. Upon completion of each audit assignment, Senior Auditor will work with project staff and audit manager to provide ADM Management and the Board of Directors with analysis, information, and recommendations in an objective, accurate, and timely fashion.

    Requirements :

    BA or BS degree in Accounting or related field

    Understanding of agriculture industry and / or commodity trading, and basic geometry

    Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in verbal and written formats to all levels of employees

    Must possess the capacity to deal successfully with conflict

    Aptitude to balance multiple priorities to meet established deadlines

    Demonstrates leadership skills and ability to make decisions independently

    Ability to apply previously gained knowledge to new situations

    Understanding of basic training and motivation skills

    Possesses good organizational skills

    Capability to climb ladders up to 100 feet high

    Flexibility to travel 50 percent of the time going to ADM Entities Worldwide

    Experience with Microsoft Office software

    Assignments and Learning Expectations –

    Effective communication and relationship development with ADM Colleagues including Executive Management

    General knowledge of the Grain Origination Industry, including understanding of hedge accounting concepts

    Aptitude to be flexible in working assignments regarding extensive travel to domestic and international business environments

    Collaborate with all ADM Colleagues and Business Partners to share and exchange best practices across ADM Divisions

    Identify and communicate weaknesses identified during Sarbanes Oxley Key Financial Control and Annual Financial Statement engagements to ensure ADM compliance with financial regulations

    Performs in a lead auditor capacity on less complex audits including oversight of one staff member work and assessment of their performance

    Traditionally Assigned Performance Development Goals -

    Take action on individual execution plan outlined as a staff auditor to obtain professional certification (CPA, CIA, and CISA) and make progress toward plan goals.

    When performing lead role on audit engagements have all work completed and turned into project manager no later than 25 and that the draft report is issued no more than 30 business days after the last day in the field.

    As a lead auditor, write project evaluations for all staff that work with you to provide constructive feedback on a timely basis – within 10 days of when a report drafts.

    The pay range for this position is expected to be between :

    64,000.00 - $120,000.00
