The Administration for Children’s Services (ACS) protects and promotes the safety and well-being of children and families through child welfare and juvenile justice services and community supports. ACS manages community-based supports and foster care services and provides subsidized childcare vouchers. ACS child protection staff respond to allegations of child maltreatment. In juvenile justice, ACS oversees detention, placement and programs for youth in the community.

The Division of Family Permanency Services (FPS) ensures that high quality services are provided to children in foster care by supporting provider agency staff with technical assistance and other services for children in foster care. FPS staff offer guidance to provider agencies on child welfare policies and procedures to improve service delivery and achieve safety, permanency, and well-being for children in foster care. FPS is seeking an outstanding candidate to serve as a Youth Coordinator for the Office of Older Youth Development Services (OYDS) to lead ACS’ work in the area of supportive monitoring, technical support, preparing youth for adulthood and community-based support. Reporting to the Program Supervisor for the FPS Office of Older Youth Development Services, the selected candidate will be an integral member of the FPS and ACS programming teams.

The Office of Youth Success Services (OYSS) within the Division of Family Permanency Services works cross-divisionally with ACS' juvenile justice, prevention, and child protection teams to achieve positive safety, well-being and permanency outcomes for children and families in the child welfare system through the provision of education, workforce readiness, job placement and housing supports. Based on the success of the College Choice program, ACS is launching the Career Choice program. Career Choice will support youth in foster care enrolled in a vocation, trade, or workforce development program by providing tuition and housing assistance, and a daily stipend.

The Youth Coordinator will be responsible for performing the following duties but not limited to:

  • Collect and analyze data such as review of data dashboards.

  • Coordinate with the community to lead various community-wide Career Choice initiatives.

  • Engage with community programs that aim to advance employment outcomes for youth in foster care.

  • Support the Program Director with developing agendas, coordinating community speakers for presentations and training, and otherwise,

  • Support with planning and managing provider meetings and other events (training, job fairs, etc.).

  • Ensure community partners are appropriately implementing day-to-day objectives and serve as liaison to support the programs.

  • Manage community projects as needed.

  • Assist the Program Director to respond to internal and external community-wide inquiries.

  • Perform related duties, as well as administrative coordination, as assigned.
