TITLE: Director of Federal Grants and Special Programs
EMPLOYMENT TERMS: Twelve (12) Months
SALARY CLASSIFICATION: Classified Salary Range - EXEMPT
GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES: To assist the superintendent with responsibilities consistent with state statutes and as delegated by the superintendent. Provides leadership for effective schools through development, implementation and evaluation of curriculum, instruction and student assessment. Will coordinate NCLB compliance and ensure all state testing and academic general compliance requirements are met and completed in a timely manner. Coordinate the Title I, Title II, Title IV-A, Title VI programs, Johnson O'Malley, Rural and Low Income Grant.
CURRICULUM - RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
Connection with the Students

FEDERAL PROGRAMS - RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Oversee development of Title Programs and State Compensatory Education (SCE) budgets, ensuring coordination with other fund sources
- To provide, coordinated implementation of District, Navajo Nation, State, and Federal Programs related to the consolidated plan. Include but not limited to JOM, Title I, 21st Century and McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance
- Coordinate with other program personnel in writing the federal programs yearly grant
Ensure compliance with all legal aspects of the Title programs and SCE programs, including program evaluations and writing waivers Monitor the implementation of the Title programs and SCE grants to ensure compliance at the campus level
- Provide Title I and SCE budgets to the campuses, and monitor purchase orders throughout the year to monitor compliance Work closely with the business office throughout the year in the setting up budgets and monitoring expenditures
- Monitor and coordinate the Title I school improvement grants and program
- Provide technical assistance to teachers and principals
- Collaborate with administrators and teachers to provide appropriate staff development Observe and monitor classroom instruction

QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION
Minimum: Bachelor’s degree and/or Federal Programs experience
Preferred: Master's degree in Education Administration or in Curriculum & Instruction
CERTIFICATION: Minimum: Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card. Record of Success with USFR accounting procedures, experience with Navajo nation, State and Federal Program compliance requirements.
EXPERIENCE:
- The ideal candidate will have 3 years of professional experience, including at least 6 years as a teacher. At least 2 years of experience leading, coaching, or training other teachers is Candidates should demonstrate process, management and administrative ability.
- Knowledge and experience developing curriculum and planning lessons are
- S/he should be highly organized and able to work independently and without much Excellent oral and written communication skills are required.
