Position: Assistant Director of Student Programs
Reports to: Director of Student Programs
Supervises: Student Programs Staff as designated by Director of Student Programs
Qualifications:
- Hold or be eligible for valid Oklahoma Administrator Certification.
- Hold or be eligible for valid TLE Evaluator Certification.
- Previous experience in Special Education preferred, but not required.
- Experience in program innovation, implementation, supervision and evaluation preferred.
- Satisfy all district requirements with regard to physical health and citizenship.
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
Position Goal: Initiate, organize, supervise and manage assigned programs in the following area which serve the special needs of students.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Oversee and ensure effective implementation of services for students on 504s.
- Supervise and monitor the services for students who are Visually Impaired.
- Supervise and monitor the services for students who are Deaf/Hard of Hearing.
- Provide leadership and oversight for the Native American Education program.
- Supervise and monitor the Health Services program.
- Oversee the coordination and effectiveness of the District Volunteer program
- Supervise the District’s Occupational Therapists and Physical Therapists and services to students.
- Collaborate with Special Education leadership to assist in supervising and monitoring the Special Education program, meeting regularly with district Special Education coordinators.
- Assist in the monitoring of the management of program grants (e.g., application process, expenditures, revisions).
- Initiate and/or monitor contracted services to meet requirements of all supervised programs.
- Supervise and evaluate assigned Student Programs staff, including certified and classified staff with district-wide responsibilities.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Employment Terms: Twelve (12) months a year. Salary and work year to be established by the Board. Benefits as established by Board policy.
FLSA Qualification: Exempt
Evaluation: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board of Education's policy on Staff Evaluation (2.20/certified).
