What are the responsibilities and job description for the Food Service Aide position at Administration?
Reports to: Cook Manager and Food Service Director
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Experience working with food, cashiering, and children preferred, but not required.
- Knowledge of basic methods of preparing and serving foods in large quantities
- Knowledgeable in the use of standard food service appliances and equipment
- Lunch and breakfast program requirements
- Arithmetical calculation processes and simple record keeping procedures
- Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs.
Basic kitchen duties include:
- preparation, cook, and service breakfast and lunch for approximately 40 students with special needs.
- ability to work in a fast paced environment and adapt to situations
- maintain food service facilities and equipment in a neat, clean, safe and sanitary condition
- prepare, serve and sell foods and snacks and prepare supplies for the next day of service.
- assist in the cleaning of the kitchen and serving areas, utensils and equipment and washing down tables after meals
- Requires occasional travel from Wakefield to Stoneham
- other related work as required
The Food Service Aide position includes working the school year and the 4-week extended year program.
Must pass ServSafe Certification
Employment contingent upon successful completion of CORI and Fingerprint Screening.
