Make a Difference in the Court System – Help Improve Outcomes for Children and Families!The Family and Youth Justice Programs (FYJP) at the Administrative Office of the Courts (AOC) is seeking a collaborative and passionate professional to provide statewide coordination for the Family and Juvenile Court Improvement Program (FJCIP). This position plays a vital role in enhancing dependency court operations, fostering cross-system collaboration, and improving outcomes for children and families across Washington State.The Statewide FJCIP Coordinator provides training, technical assistance, and continuous quality improvement support to FJCIP coordinators, judicial officers, and multidisciplinary teams in 15 FJCIP courts. Partnering with researchers from the Washington State Center for Court Research, this position helps courts use data-driven approaches to assess and enhance their programs. The Statewide FJCIP Coordinator works closely with local courts, system partners, and community providers to promote best practices in dependency court operations and improvement efforts.This role is an integral member of the FYJP team, which is dedicated to transforming court systems to support thriving families and equitable communities. The FJCIP Statewide Coordinator will: Lead and coordinate multiple court improvement projects.Facilitate work groups and communities of practice.Provide training and support to local FJCIP coordinators and judicial officers.Manage contracts, budgets, and grant reporting.Collaborate with judicial officers, court staff, DCYF leaders, legal system partners, people with lived experience, and AOC staff.This is a professional-level position that operates with minimal supervision, requiring strong program management skills, independent judgment, and the ability to navigate a fast-paced, evolving environment. EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Some of the duties you will perform are: Partner with participating courts to implement FJCIP core components, assess program progress, and support continuous improvement using the FJCIP implementation framework. Provide direct support, training, and technical assistance to FJCIP coordinators, judicial officers, and court communities. Collaborate with Washington State Center for Court Research staff to help local courts collect, analyze, and use court data to drive program improvements. Identify local court needs and work with the FYJP team and system partners to develop cross-system training and court improvement initiatives. Research, analyze, and share policies, best practices, legislation, and resources to enhance dependency court operations and outcomes. Foster peer learning and community-building among FJCIP Coordinators, including facilitating a community of practice and conducting site visits to FJCIP courts. Author key program documents, including the annual FJCIP report to the legislature. Collaborate with courts to continuously refine and enhance the FJCIP statewide program and related processes. Manage program budgets, administer grants, and oversee contracts and payments to courts, ensuring compliance with program requirements. Work with AOC staff and system partners to improve docket codes, pattern forms, and court policies and procedures. Travel required, including occasional overnight trips throughout Washington State.
