Duties
The Administrative Office of the U.S. Courts (AO), Facilities and Security Office (FSO) is seeking a dynamic, high-energy, and experienced Supervisory Attorney Advisor to serve as the Chief, Security & Facilities Policy Staff (SFPS). This position reports directly to the Deputy Chief of the FSO.
SFPS executes the Judicial facilities and security priorities, provides staff support to the AO's Space and Security Advisory Council (SSAC), and reviews and responds to legislation impacting the Judiciary's space and physical security programs. SFPS provides expertise to the Judicial Conference of the United States (JCUS) and manages the portfolios of the Judicial Conference Committees on Space and Facilities and Judicial Security. SFPS works with the General Services Administration, U.S. Marshals Service, Federal Protective Service, and other AO offices to achieve its mission.
The Supervisory Attorney Advisor oversees and manages complex and multi-faced nationwide programs; oversee the legal and legislative issues that flow from these programs; and coordinates with senior officials and service providers.
The ideal candidate must have knowledge of federal judicial administration and strong legal writing skills. Additionally, the candidate must possess outstanding diplomatic, interpersonal, organizational, analytical, and communication skills. The candidate must have experience working collaboratively with supervisors, colleagues, and external stakeholders.

Qualifications
Applicants must have demonstrated experience as listed below. This requirement is according to the AO Classification, Compensation, and Recruitment Systems which include interpretive guidance and reference to the OPM Operating Manual for Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions.
Bar Membership : Applicants must currently be an active member in good standing of the bar of a state, territory, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico or a federal court of general jurisdiction. Applicants are responsible for citing minimum qualifications such as J.D. and bar membership information (institution name, state(s) for bar, and dates) on their respective resumes. Post J.D. Experience : Applicants must also possess at least 4 years of post J.D. experience.
Specialized Experience : Subsequent to graduation from law school, applicants must have at least one full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience which is in or directly related to the line of work of this position. Specialized experience must demonstrate experience in ALL areas defined below :
Education
Applicants must possess a law degree (J.D.) from a law school accredited by the American Bar Association (ABA). Qualifying education must have been obtained from an accredited college or university recognized by the Department of Education.
