Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Controller to join our finance team. The Controller will play a crucial role in managing the company's financial operations, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and providing strategic financial insights to support business decisions. This position requires strong financial acumen and expertise in technical accounting.
Duties
- Establish and maintain prudent financial controls
- Establish, or recommend to management, major corporate economic strategies, objectives and policies.
- Act as management representative.
- Recommend modifications to existing corporate programs.
- Prepare reports which summarize and forecast company business activity and financial position in areas of income, expenses and earnings, based on past, present and expected operations.
- Direct preparation of budgets, review budget proposals and prepare necessary, supporting documentation and justification.
- Advise management about insurance coverage for protection against property losses and potential liabilities.
- Provide management with timely reviews of organization's financial status and progress in its various programs and activities.
- Direct the determination of depreciation rates to apply to capital assets.
- Advise management on desirable operational adjustments due to tax code revisions.
- Engage Financial Audit Firm(s) to ensure the company is in compliance with financial reporting requirements.
- Oversee the company's IT activities and personnel.
- Prepare reports required by regulatory agencies.
- Establish and maintain relations with banks and other financial institutions.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA certification is preferred.
- Proven experience in a similar role.
- Proficiency in accounts receivable processes, balance sheet reconciliation, general ledger reconciliation, and technical accounting concepts.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Familiarity with financial software systems and advanced Excel skills are highly desirable.
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with team members and stakeholders across the organization.
