Role Overview
As the US Partnership Director, you will play a key role in driving the growth of strategic partnerships and collaborations that fuel the company's success. Reporting directly to the CEO, your mission will be to identify and build strong relationships with a diverse range of partners, including industrial players, academic institutions, research institutions, and more. You will also be responsible for responding to Big Pharma funding calls and grants and managing the creation of high-impact consortiums and collaborative projects. You will use your experience to foster trust-based, long-term partnerships, especially within the USA.
Key Responsibilities :
- Lead Partnership Development & Ecosystem mapping : Identify, cultivate, and manage key partnerships with industry leaders, academic institutions, and research centers to accelerate the company's growth and innovation.
- Coordinate Funding Proposals : Design and lead strategic initiatives in response to international funding and grant calls, ensuring alignment with the company's scientific vision and goals.
- Act as Main Liaison : Serve as the primary contact point for external partners, ensuring seamless communication and successful collaboration.
- Promote Visibility : Represent the company at conferences and fairs, creating differentiated value propositions that showcase the company’s breakthrough work. Work closely with the BD teams.
- Drive Strategic Growth : Leverage your existing network in Academia and the biotech / pharma sector to accelerate partnership opportunities, and build on internal relationships to foster innovation.

Educational Background : You hold a PhD, Master’s, or an engineering degree with a specialization in biology, systems biology, computational biology, or a closely related field. Your solid academic foundation gives you a deep understanding of the scientific principles at play in drug discovery.Strategic Partnership Expertise : As an Open Innovation Director or a Partnership or Alliance Director within one of the following sectors : Pharma / Biotech / CRO / Big4 / Health Data Analytics Major Players, you have an extensive trans-sectorial network of key players, especially in the Boston area, and a proven track record of collaborative projects and in driving, building, and nurturing strategic partnerships. You bring experience in identifying, negotiating, and managing high-impact collaborations with key industry players, academic institutions, and research centers. Your ability to think outside the box and create mutually beneficial alliances or long-term business relationships is one of your core strengths. A good understanding of business models for drug repurposing is desirable.Pharma Network and Bioinformatics Knowledge : Ideally, you have an established network within the pharmaceutical industry, which will help you drive strategic collaborations and unlock new business opportunities. A strong understanding of bioinformatics, along with familiarity with international / US funding bodies, will enable you to navigate the complexities of grant proposals and funding initiatives.Tech-Savvy with a Vision for Healthcare Innovation : You are deeply interested in artificial intelligence and its transformative potential in healthcare. Your technical expertise in computational biology or related disciplines will allow you to seamlessly integrate into the startup’s innovative ecosystem, contributing to the development of breakthrough technologies that have the potential to change the future of drug discovery.Key Skills and Qualities :Advisory & Negotiation : You possess excellent advisory skills and have a natural talent for negotiation, finding win-win solutions that drive successful partnerships.Organizational Excellence : With your strong organizational abilities, you are adept at managing multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring that deadlines are met and objectives are achieved.Proactive & Autonomous : You are self-driven, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and take ownership of your work.
