About Us:

Adolescent Consultation Services (ACS), a nonprofit mental health agency serving the Middlesex County Juvenile Courts of Massachusetts, is seeking qualified applicants for a full-time (40 hours/week) mental health clinician position. ACS provides evaluation, consultation, and treatment services to the Juvenile Courts in Cambridge, Framingham, Lowell, and Waltham.

This exciting new position has been created in response to the needs of our target population of youth and families. While based in Cambridge, the ideal candidate will be instrumental in helping ACS expand partnerships with nearby school systems by providing school-based services during the school day. Upon hire, the successful candidate will join a collaborative, dynamic countywide treatment team, which is overseen by the Director of Treatment.

All treatment services provided by ACS are at no cost to clients and are funded entirely by grants, foundations, and individual donors. Removing financial and health insurance barriers not only makes our treatment services highly accessible, it eliminates a significant administrative burden for clinicians.

Essential Functions:

  • With the overarching goal of expanding and deepening our reach, working alongside the Director of Treatment to enhance existing school-based program delivery and explore opportunities for program expansion.
  • Conduct intake screenings and assessments for court-involved and at-risk youth referred by schools, courts, or the District Attorney’s office within Middlesex County.
  • Provide school- and clinic-based individual therapy and family consultation in-person and/or via telehealth.
  • Facilitate in-person school-based psychoeducational groups.
  • Communicate with juvenile court staff, attorneys, school personnel, the District Attorney’s Office, the Department of Children and Families, and other stakeholders to provide consultation and coordination of care.
  • Assist families with referrals to behavioral health providers and/or other therapeutic services as needed.
  • Maintain daily, timely documentation, including but not limited to clinical assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, case management notes, and memorandums to the Juvenile Court.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in counseling, psychology, social work or related field.
  • Independently licensed to provide mental health services in Massachusetts (LICSW or LMHC).
  • A minimum of five years of experience working in the field of mental health, providing both individual and group therapy.
  • Experience working in a school-based setting.
  • Essential knowledge and experience include a background in child development, strong diagnostic skills, knowledge of services available for children and families, and experience working with at-risk youth and families.
  • Knowledge of treatment modalities appropriate for children, adolescents, and families.
  • Highly organized.
  • Commitment to being highly responsive to clients, families, referral sources, and other stakeholders.
  • Self-starting, collaborative, and demonstrated attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience and passion for serving youth who are involved in the juvenile justice system.
  • Bilingual capabilities.

Salary and Benefits:

  • Starting salary range for 40 hours/week: $75,000 – 85,000 (Compensation is based on education, related work experience, licensure, and other qualifications.)
